Is Ranch Dressing Keto

Ranch dressing is typically a safe option when trying to stay keto. They tend to be higher calorie and fat than vinegar based dressings but that’s okay when you’re eating a low carb high fat diet. This keto ranch dressing recipe is made with wholesome ingredients so that it can be enjoyed by a variety of diet lifestyles including keto, paleo, dairy free, and even rounds of Whole30.

Why Should You Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

Unfortunately, many store bought dressings are full of junky ingredients. Most list soybean oil or canola oil as the first ingredient which are both very unhealthy. Also, many store bought dressings use artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives to give them a longer shelf life. Clean and organic dressings, while available, are very pricey. Making your own dressings at home is cost effective, easy, and gives you control over what goes into the jar!

What Does This Ranch Dressing Taste Like

This zero carb ranch dressing recipe is herbytangy, and creamy. There is a bit of tang from the dijon mustard that would typically come from buttermilk. And the classic herby flavor comes from the garlic and dill. If you’re a ranch dressing connoisseur such as myself, I think you’re going to love this ranch dressing recipe! If you like vinaigrette dressings, try this Keto Dijon Vinaigrette recipe.

How To Make This Keto Ranch Dressing Recipe

If you can stir a fork, you can make this dressing! Simply put all of the ingredients in a jar or bowl. Shake or stir, darling, until it’s all combined. No blenders, food processors, or whisks needed!

Can This Ranch Dressing Be Used for Dipping

This ranch dressing is delicious on salads but it doesn’t stop there. You can control the thickness of this dressing with the water to make it as runny or thick as you need! Try dipping your keto chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, or this roasted crudité platter

How Is This Keto Ranch Dressing Zero Carbs

This homemade ranch dressing is made without dairy which significantly reduces the overall carbohydrates. Forgoing oils and sweeteners also eliminates carbohydrates. Make sure to use a clean and sugar free mayonnaise so as not to add carbs to your ranch!

I got excited when I saw “zero carbs” BUT the recipe uses garlic powder, which has carbs.

Hi Molly - good point, I should make this more clear in the recipe but the amount of carbs is very limited, less than 1g of net carbs in the full cup. Thanks for flagging!

I made this in a rush after realizing the only Ranch dressing I had in the fridge was store bought. I wanted less carbs per serving plus better ingredients so I quickly made this. I had to make a couple of tweaks. I didn't have any dijon mustard so I substituted it with 1/4 tsp of dry mustard. Instead of water, I used a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk to thin it out some. This was mainly because I confused this recipe with another I'd seen on the internet. It worked out fine though and tastes awesome! This recipe is very easy to make and can be served immediately if your mayo has already been refrigerated. I loved it! Thank you!!
