Keto Radish French Fries (2g Net Carbs!)

Let’s be honest…nothing can replace a McDonald’s french fry. Or any french fries for that matter. They are simply a quintessential American food.

So, it is natural to mourn the loss of french fries when you switch to a ketogenic diet. Take a moment if you need it. Praise da Lort that we still get cheeseburgers though!

Have you seen my recipe for Cheeseburger Pie? It’s a HUGE hit with my family & subscribers!

But of course, there’s a low carb swap for French fries…fried radishes!

My kids and husband were VERY skeptical when I first put fried radishes on their plates next to beloved cheeseburgers one night. But, they ended up LOVING them!

Plus, did you know that radishes have a multitude of health benefits? They are ultra low carb and full of vitamins and minerals! I think they’re really underrated and need to get more love in the foodosphere (yes, I just made up that word!)!

They’re super easy to make too! One thing I’ve found to satisfy the french fry craving is radishes. Surprisingly, they “fry” up very nicely and have a texture similar to french fries making them an ideal swap for the real kind! AND they’re less than 2 carbs per serving!

Ingredients

  • 1 package radishes (about 1 lb)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse radishes. Slices off the end and cut into quarters.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a skillet over MED-HIGH heat.
  3. Add radishes and let cook for 15 minutes until crispy.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top immediately after cooking.
